Pirates Look To Spoil Reds’ Quest for Wild Card With MLB Moneyline Win
The Pittsburgh Pirates are on the cusp of being eliminated from the playoffs as one of two teams with losing records still alive in the MLB.
The Pirates will have their work cut out for them if they hope to plunder a win from the Reds with a sketchy pitcher in Bailey Falter (2-9, 4.58). The lefty has been better this month with a 2.51 ERA compared to a 4.88 mark in August, but I expect Bailey to falter again at some point.
The Reds counter with Connor Phillips (1-0, 5.74), making his fourth start. Despite a poor ERA, the Reds are 3-0 on the moneyline when he takes the mound. However, against the spread, the Reds are 1-2 in those games.
The odds aren’t where I want them on the run line. Instead, I have a wager against the baseball spreads on Saturday to add a little cash to your pocket.

Pirates Among Worst ATS Teams in MLB
The Pirates can try all they want to make life hard for the Reds team in terms of clinching a playoff spot, but I’m not sure they have the chops to pull it off. Falter may be having a good month, but I don’t trust him to carry this team to an MLB betting win on Saturday. The Pirates team have one of the worst overall records against the MLB spread, with a negative return on investment of -8.08%. Their numbers on the road are better at -6.14%, but still not good and far from being profitable.
While the Pirates have nothing to play for other than trolling the Reds, Cincy is in must-win mode from here on out. The Pirates will likely make this a bullpen game again after using seven pitchers on Friday night. That bodes well for our fade, considering the Pirates bullpen ERA is 4.29.
A quick note for in-play bettors considering the MLB live odds during Saturday’s NL Central clash. When the game hits the later innings, if you plan to bet online against the Orioles bullpen, you might want to think again. I’m not saying it will win them the game, but Baltimore’s bullpen has the sixth-best ERA at 3.65 this season with a solid 1.28 WHIP.
