Best NBA Player Props Tuesday April 2: Buy-Low on Donovan Mitchell Over
What a sweet time of the year! Unfortunately, our three NBA bet tips went 1 for 3 to start the week, but we can bounce back on Tuesday.
Each team has roughly seven games remaining in the regular season, and every night from here will have playoff implications. We have a nine-game schedule on Tuesday, highlighted by the TNT doubleheader. Shai-Gilgeous Alexander and the Thunder battle the 76ers, and the Warriors take on Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. Get the popcorn ready.
This will be a must-see, and we have plenty of player props to select from for Tuesday. Let’s get to our best NBA prop bets today!
1. NBA Prop Bet: Lakers PG D’Angelo Russell Over 5½ Assists (-136)
The Lakers are North of the border against the Toronto Raptors. Los Angeles is coming off a dominant win over the Brooklyn Nets in which LeBron James dropped 40 points, and was unconscious from beyond the arc. The Raptors are an obvious tanking team, so there’s the risk of a blowout.
The Raptors have allowed the fifth-most assists per game and have the second-worst defensive rating in the NBA since Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl went down. Los Angeles’ D’Angelo Russell has accumulated six assists in seven of his last 10 games, and 11 of 18 since the All-Star break.
2. NBA Prop Bet: Lakers PF Anthony Davis Over 25½ Points (-124)
The Raptors could get RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley back in the lineup against the Lakers, which could make for a more competitive game. The Lakers are playing on the first night of a back-to-back, and their opponent tomorrow is the Washington Wizards. If they do get out to a massive lead here, we could see the starters sit, but I don’t believe they are looking ahead.
Even with nine games to choose from, I’m staying in this matchup and riding with Anthony Davis. He scored 41 points in the previous matchup this season. The Raptors don’t have anyone on the floor that can check AD. Since Barnes and Poeltl went down, the Raptors are allowing the second-most points in the paint in the NBA. Davis is having an incredible season and isn’t getting enough credit for how well he has played. He has dominated in smash matchups such as this, and I trust him to do it again on Tuesday.
3. NBA Prop Bet: Cavaliers PF Evan Mobley Over 14½ Points (-106)
The Cavaliers have been in a bit of a lull, but have a terrific bounce-back spot against the Utah Jazz. The Jazz are tanking and have already announced Jordan Clarkson, Lauri Markkanen and John Collins will sit. Cleveland is set up perfectly to run the Jazz out of their gym.
Utah has allowed the second-most points per game to opposing power forwards. Mobley is over this line in four of five games since returning from injury. He has scored at least 15 points in 22 of 41 healthy games. Jarrett Allen and Mobley will control the glass, leading to easy second-chance buckets.

4. NBA Prop Bet: Cavaliers SG Donovan Mitchell Over 23½ Points (-108)
I’m firing up a tale as old as time – the NBA revenge game narrative. Donovan Mitchell has played twice against the Jazz since he was traded to Cleveland. He scored 46 points in his first game back in Utah, and I’m expecting a similar showing. The Cavs and Mitchell have been in a bit of a slump, but the Jazz defense, which has the worst rating in the NBA over the last month, will provide a boost.
Utah allows the most points per game on the fastbreak, and Mitchell excels on the break, scoring the third-highest fastbreak points, behind only Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James. Utah allows the eighth-most points per game to opposing shooting guards. Before dealing with injuries, Mitchell exceeded this line in 10 of 11 games heading into the All-Star break. This is an excellent buy-low spot. I’m counting on Spida Mitchell to show up and produce.
