Mavericks NBA Pick of the Day vs Clippers

The Dallas Mavericks will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night in NBA in-season tournament action. The Clippers added a massive piece to their team last week but still await positive results. They are on a three-game losing streak and have lost four straight on the road.

The Mavericks lost some momentum on Wednesday with a loss to the Toronto Raptors, but it was just their second loss of the season.

Despite the gap in their records, the NBA odds list the Mavericks as mere one-point favorites.

Does Harden Make LA Worse?

The big news for Los Angeles was the recent trade for James Harden on Halloween to add to an already strong lineup that includes Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and Kawhi Leonard. But after two games with Harden, the Clippers are 0-2 and haven’t scored more than 97 points in either game.

Now, the Clippers need to pick up the pace. They are on a three-game losing streak and have gone 0-4 in their last four road games.

While I believe Harden is a massive talent, he’s never been “the guy” and still has zero rings to his name. Now he joins a team with three potential Hall of Famers.

The current lineup has these guys stepping all over each other, and nobody is eager to play facilitator.

With some time, this team will come together. But with the inconsistency, poor record on the road, and adjustment period with a new star in town, I don’t see the Clippers as a quality NBA pick.

I don’t understand why a team on a three-game losing streak with a terrible road record is an underdog of just one point on the NBA spread. To me, this is a no-brainer.
