Play Magic’s Song as Orlando Upsets Cavaliers in Game 7

Win or go home is the message as the Cleveland Cavaliers play host to the Orlando Magic for the lone Game 7 of the NBA first round. Home has indeed been where the heart is during this series as Orlando looks to become the first road team to win. Given this streak, it is no surprise that the Cavaliers are 3 ½-point home favorites versus the Magic for Game 7.

The over-under is set at 195 points in a series defined by defense. Will the Magic get the first road win of the series, or will the Cavaliers continue to take advantage of some home cooking?

Here’s what you need to know about Magic-Cavs Game 7.

Magic vs Cavaliers Odds and Spreads

  • Orlando is 6-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 matchups versus Cleveland.
  • The Cavs are 40-16 straight up (SU) as a favorite this season.
  • The Magic are an impressive 55-13 ATS.
  • Cleveland has gone under in 45 games, with the over cashing 42 times.
  • Orlando is 17-29 SU as an underdog this season.

Injuries Starting To Add Up for the Cavaliers

Both teams are dealing with injuries, but the Cavs appear to have been hit harder during the series. Cleveland center Jarrett Allen has missed the last two games with a rib injury. Allen’s status for Game 7 remains uncertain.

Donovan Mitchell has also been battling injuries and briefly headed to the locker room in Game 6. The star was able to return to the game and played 40 minutes. Mitchell is expected to play in Game 7 but it would be a surprise if the star is 100%.

Magic Ascending at Right Time

Both of these teams are fighting for the right to face the Celtics in the second round. It would be a surprise if either team is able to push Boston to the limits.

If you just watched the first two games of this series, you likely would have been surprised this went beyond five games. Yet, the Magic were able to withstand significant punches without getting knocked out. The Magic headed to Orlando on the ropes and the crowd gave the Magic a major boost to even the series.

Orlando was unable to win at Cleveland in Game 5 but a 1-point loss is much different than how the Magic played in the first two road games. Magic guard Jalen Suggs believes Orlando now has a track record of taking the Cavs’ best shots.

All series long, we’ve done a great job of staying so poised,” Suggs said, per OrlandoMagic.com. “Anything they’ve done to try to throw us off our game and knock us off balance, we’ve responded to it, we’ve acknowledged it and we’ve faced it. We’ve stayed center and together. I think tonight was another example of that.

Magic vs. Cavaliers Game 7 Pick: Orlando Becomes First Road Team to Win

At the risk of regretting this in about 24 hours, I expect the Magic to become the first road team to win in this series. Orlando has momentum on their side, and can point back to Game 5 as proof that the Magic are able to compete in Cleveland.

It is hard to imagine the mounting injuries the Cavaliers are dealing with not adding up for Game 7. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner have both had clutch moments throughout the series.

This is also a Cleveland team that could be blowing up this roster if the team sustains another first-round exit. If this game is close in the fourth quarter (as I expect), this pressure on the Cavs could be palpable in the final minutes. Give me the Magic moneyline at the sportsbook.

For some added juice, I also like the under in the Game 7 matchup which you can combine with the Magic moneyline.
