Brady Headlines UFC 280 Prelims

Value on Undercard Bouts in Dubai

It’s an excellent fight card at UFC 280 and the preliminary fights are a mouthwatering way to get the action started.

UFC odds are available for every fight, including Belal Muhammad vs Sean Brady, which is good enough to be on the main card.

Muhammad vs Brady

It’s a close betting market for Muhammed vs Brady. The current favorite is Brady at -135 as he looks to improve his record to 16-0.

The 29-year-old defeated Michael Chiesa in November, which is an excellent betting online guide, and he makes another step up against Muhammad, who has been tearing through his opponents.

Muhammad’s recent wins have come against Vicente Luque, Stephen Thompson, and Demian Maia. The +105 underdog is a quality fighter in his own right but Brady could be a next-level fighter.

“I’m a different animal of taking people down and controlling them and ground and pound and submissions, and I feel like it’s gonna be a lot different. It’s gonna be something he’s never experienced before,” Brady told MMA Junkie. “Just like people talk about what Khabib (Nurmagomedov) feels like, you don’t know until you feel it. These guys don’t know. Until I grab them, they’re not gonna know what they’re in for.”

  • Pick: Sean Brady -135

Muradov vs Borralho

Caio Borralho is the hot -200 favorite to beat Makhmud Muradov and the odds are hardly surprising.

He is 2-0 since arriving in the UFC and 12-1 overall. He owns wins against Armen Petrosyan and Gadzhi Omargadzhiev, who are quality opponents.

Muradov was beaten by Gerald Meerschaert by submission in August last year. He was much better when beating Andrew Sanchez at UFC 257, so he needs to bring that form into the Octagon.

Borralho has the advantage, and although the -200 is short, he should add value to the UFC 280 prelim card.

  • Pick: Caio Borralho -200

Oezdemir vs Krylov

Nikita Krylov stormed back into the lightweight heavyweight rankings with an impressive win over Alexander Gustafsson in July.

The 30-year-old Ukrainian took just over a minute to defeat the former champion and he’s eyeing another tough opponent in Volkan Oezdemir.

The sportsbook has Krylov at -175 to beat Oezdemir, who got the better of Paul Craig earlier this year. It was a solid bounce-back effort after losing to Magomed Ankalaev, which was to be expected.

Krylov is a knockout artist and he’s featuring in our UFC 280 selections.

  • Pick: Nikita Krylov -175

Nurmagomedov vs Omargadzhiev

Abubakar Nurmagomedov is 16-3-1 after beating Jared Gooden in his UFC debut and he has been well-backed to win in Dubai.

The Russian is a national combat sambo champion and he brings those skills to the UFC, which is bad news for Omargadzhiev, who lost to Borralho in April.

It could be a close contest that goes the full three rounds, but we’re taking the -175 favorite to win. Nurmagomedov is another top-level Russian fighter who should continue on his winning ways.

  • Pick: Abubakar Nurmagomedov -175

Petrosyan vs Dobson

AJ Dobson comes off a loss to Jacob Malkoun and we don’t think that’s good enough form against Armen Petrosyan.

The 7-2 fighter also is coming off a loss, but it was against Borralho. Prior to the loss, he got the better of Gregory Rodrigues, so that was a solid effort.

Vegas odds have Petrosyan at -215 to get the job done and those odds should be included. He’s the better fighter and he’ll likely wear Dobson down.

  • Pick: Armen Petrosyan -215
