Odds Are Curry, Warriors Continue Mastery Of Blazers

The Golden State Warriors will be many nba experts’ picks when they go on the road to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night

The Warriors have won three in a row and seven of the last eight against Portland, including a 110-106 triumph in San Francisco on Dec. 6. Stephen Curry scored 31 points and is averaging 34.7 in 38 career games versus the Blazers.

Odds Are Curry, Warriors Continue Mastery Of Blazers

Golden State snapped a three-game slide Saturday with a 124-120 victory over the Brooklyn Nets at home. The Warriors made 17-of-32 from 3-point range, led by Curry’s 6-for-8 performance.

The Trail Blazers dropped their sixth straight contest Saturday, falling 131-120 against Dallas at home. Anfernee Simons scored 33 and Jerami Grant added 27 for Portland. Grant was back after missing four games in concussion protocol.

The Warriors are +1000 to win the Western Conference in the Vegas odds, while Portland is +50000.

Over/Under Pick: Under 233 1/2 (-110)

The question with both teams playing back-to-back is whether fatigue will show on the shooting side or the defensive side. But we think the number is a little high in this one. The expectation is that it will be slightly under 230.

Against the Spread Pick: Warriors -5 1/2 (-110)

The NBA spread seems a bit high with Golden State losing 12 of its last 17 overall and posting  a 5-7 record on the road. But these are the Warriors and, although they nearly lost to Brooklyn on Saturday, finding a way to win may give them a little momentum for better against the struggling Blazers.

Moneyline Pick: Warriors (-200)

Curry was spectacular on Saturday and sidekick Klay Thompson has rebounded from a benching against Phoenix to score 54 total points the last two contests. The Warriors have more depth in scoring as well. Simons and Grant scored half of Portland’s points Saturday.

Player Props Pick: Thompson 25+ points in Warriors win (+400)

Thompson drained 12-of-21 from 3-point range the last two games and has a good chance to carry that over. The NBA odds prediction for a parlay on Thompson has good value.

Questions of the Day

Which Warriors player will have the biggest impact on the game?

Andrew Wiggins. Curry and Thompson will do their thing, but the Warriors need more supplementary offense from Wiggins. The former first-overall pick in the draft is averaging just 9.4 points on 33.3% shooting this month.

Can the Blazers’ lineup use the home court to its advantage?

Perhaps. But Portland has won just 2 of 10 games at Moda Center this season. The Blazers scored 39 in the first quarter Saturday, but ended up trailing by 11 at half.
