Neither Eryk Anders nor Marc-Andre Barriault will get plenty of style points this Saturday night. These UFC veterans need to win, and they’ll do it in whatever way they can. As such, the UFC lines lare tight here but slightly in favor of the Canadian; Barriault. Better yet, the fight should go past the 2½-round mark on the total.
Anders Low-Level Gatekeeper
It might be disrespectful to say, but Anders is a gatekeeper to the lowest levels of the UFC. He will beat up on the likes of Kyle Daukaus and late replacement opponents. But any fighter capable of holding a job in the UFC can beat Anders. And it’s due to Anders’s inconsistency.
The former football player has plenty of power and athleticism. He’s also been fighting professionally for over a decade. But at 36 and with a litany of injuries behind him, Anders is going to be as good as he gets. As such, he’s a tough UFC pick to gauge, so his online sports betting lines tend to be like this: as a small underdog or slight favorite.
Anders has also quipped about retiring, so even he admits he’s only in this MMA game for a few more years. If he approaches this like his back is against the wall, he may just surprise. Marc-Andre Barriault is a slow starter so Anders can stun him early. Betting Anders to win in Round 1 is likely his best UFC bet at +650.
Barriault Ready to Put on a Show
“It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.” That may be an indirect motto of Barriault, who typically wins his fights by coming on strong late. The Canadian could get some extra energy from the home crowd as he weathers Anders’s early storm to win late. This is a fight he’s asked for since 2019, and he is finally getting it.

And like Anders, Barriault is a kickboxer who fights with his heart more than his head. This isn’t to say he’s a meathead. But Barriault does absorb a punch to give one in return. He’s absorbing around 5.1 significant strikes per minute while landing nearly six in exchange.
Barriault’s biggest weakness is his wrestling or lack thereof. He’s struggled more against opponents who could mix it up. But if he takes on a fighter he knows will “stand and bang” with him, Barriault will shine.
Barriault vs Anders Head-to-Head
Anders and Barriault are equal in almost every aspect. Physically, Barriault is younger, but everything else is “virtually identical.” And in experience, they’ve both fought 22 times. A key difference is in their stances. Anders is a southpaw, while Barriault is an orthodox.
