The inconsistent to terrible Mets will spend their weekend in San Diego. On Saturday, one of their best young arms, Nolan McLean, throws against Griffin Canning. After a couple of rough starts, McLean got his act back together in a win over the Marlins.
The same can not be said about Canning. He is 0-4 with a 7.16 ERA. Hard to imagine a couple more poor starts will see the 30-year-old continue to be in San Diego’s rotation. The Mets are tough to trust, but this pitching matchup begs to play the road team. MLB lines BetUS are worth monitoring, especially if New York somehow is an underdog.
Juan Soto could also be a prop play because he should enjoy facing Canning, at least in his first or second at-bat.
