NHL Series Prices Odds & Lines

What are NHL Series Prices?

After the regular season is done and it’s time for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the NHL postseason offers plenty of new betting opportunities for fans.

One such opportunity is NHL Series Prices, which is a moneyline bet that allows bettors to place a bet on who they believe will win each playoff series.

How Do NHL Series Prices Work?

NHL Series Prices are fairly simple to figure out, as they are similar to a moneyline bet. However, rather than betting on one game, fans bet on a seven-game series between playoff teams, placing a bet on who will advance.

Just like moneyline odds, though, NHL Series Prices are represented by positive and negative odds. The team that is favored will be represented by a negative number while the underdog is given a positive number. The higher the number, the greater the favorite or underdog.

NHL Series Prices also change as the playoff series goes on. Odds may open in favor of one team, but if the underdog is leading in games, updated odds may change to favor the other team.

For example, in the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs series, Toronto opened as a favorite with -176 odds. However, after Florida won the first three games, the Panthers are favored to win the series, with current odds at -900, while the Maple Leafs are +650 underdogs.

With the updated odds, to win $100 on the Panthers, a bettor must place a $900, while they would win $650 on a $100 bet if Toronto were to turn things around and win the series.

Betting Strategy

When it comes to betting on NHL Series Prices, there are a few betting strategies to employ to get the best possible turnout.

Though many tout home ice as an advantage, bettors shouldn’t put too much stock into it, as each team will get its turn at home and it doesn’t always pay off in the end anyway.

Fans should instead focus on how teams are playing at the moment, how they match up against their opponent and injuries on each team to place the best bet.

Prop Bets

There aren’t as many prop bets available for NHL Series Prices and the NHL as a whole as there are for basketball, football or other sports.

Still, player props are the most common prop bets when it comes to the NHL playoffs, giving fans another way to get involved in betting and raising the entertainment value of the sport.

NHL player props mainly focus on the statistical performance of players. Some prop bets may include how many assists a player will have, if they will score a goal, or a combination of the two in how many points a player will have in a game.

HOW TO BET ON NHL SERIES PRICES ODDS

NHL Betting Guide

There is really only one betting option when it comes to NHL Series Prices, though it can be broken down into two.

When betting on NHL Series Prices, fans can bet on the moneyline on either the opening odds or the updated odds.

The moneyline involves deciding which team will win the seven-game series, and bettors can choose to bet the opening odds and/or the updated odds after any number of games are played.

To get the most out of their bet, bettors should do some research before placing their NHL Series bet.

Home ice can have an advantage if the series is that tight, however there are a few other things to look at when placing a bet.

How each team matches up against each other is key, as one team may have a greater advantage on the power play or face offs, leading to a better advantage. Injuries are also important to factor in, as if a team is without one of their top producers, it could be a hindrance to their success.

Finally, fans should take a look at how teams are currently doing when placing their bets. A team riding a win streak with momentum into the playoffs has a better chance at success than a team who stumbled their way there.
