The EFL Cup — known commercially as the Carabao Cup — is England’s second domestic knockout competition, open to clubs across the Premier League and the English Football League. Premier League sides enter in the later rounds, which is why third-round ties regularly pair top-flight clubs against lower-league opposition.
EFL Cup Betting Markets
- Moneyline (3-way) — home, away, or draw. Unlike most US sports, a draw is its own outcome, not a push. All three prices are listed separately.
- Handicap — Asian lines such as pk, -½, -1. A pk (pick ’em) line settles on the match result alone with no goal adjustment.
- Total goals — over/under on combined goals, usually set between 2½ and 3½.
- Team totals — goals scored by one side only.
- First half — the same markets applied to the opening 45 minutes.

Reading the cup
Squad rotation is heavier in this competition than in league play, particularly for clubs with European fixtures. Confirmed lineups are generally a more useful input than league table position when these ties are priced.
