La Liga Odds & Betting Lines

La Liga is one of the most important and relevant soccer competitions in the world. The Spanish soccer league has some top teams like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, making this league one of the most-watched soccer competitions worldwide. Now, we’re heading on to how you can enjoy the best La Liga betting.

The La Liga season runs from August to May, and 20 teams compete for the title. Thus, there are 380 games in total. Since 1997, each of the 20 squads play the other 19 twice, once at home, and once on the road. The winner of each match gets three points, while the loser returns home empty-handed. In case of a draw, each team gets a point. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the title and automatically qualifies for the UEFA Champions League.

Sounds overwhelming, but don’t worry; we put at your disposal not only a group of experts you can rely on week in and week out but also an easy-to-understand guide about the many options you’ll have for every single matchup.

La Liga Betting Lines and Odds

How to Bet on La Liga?

We aren’t kidding. Here at BetUS Sportsbook, you’ll be able to make picks for every single La Liga game. For starters, you’ll have four options: handicap, moneyline, total, and team total. To explain each option, I’ll take a real example from the 2024-25 season: Atletico Madrid vs Osasuna.

La Liga Moneyline

Atletico Madrid is heavily favored to take the three points. How do we know this? Because Los Colchoneros are -350 in the moneyline. That means you would have to bet $350 to win $100. On the other hand, Osasuna is +1000, which means a $100 bet would give you the chance of winning $1000.

I started with the moneyline because that’s the easiest, quickest way to win. If you take the moneyline, you only need the team you bet on to win the game. That’s it; the score doesn’t matter, the total doesn’t matter, nothing else matters. If the game ends with a draw or the other team wins, you lose the bet.

La Liga Handicap

What about the handicap? In our example, Atletico Madrid is -1½ at -105, while Osasuna is +1½ at -115. That means Los Colchoneros would have to win the game by at least two goals for you to win the bet. Why? The handicap is giving Osasuna an advantage of 1½ goals before the game starts. Therefore, if Atletico Madrid wins 2-1, the handicap would make it 2-2½, making Osasuna the winner.

La Liga Game Total

The total is related to the game total. For Atletico Madrid vs. Osasuna, it is set at 2½ goals. For the game total to go over, both teams must combine for over 2½ goals. You win the bet if, for example, you include the over in your La Liga Picks and Atletico Madrid wins 3-1. On the other hand, if Atletico Madrid wins 2-0, you lose the bet.

La Liga Team Total

Finally, the team total: Atletico Madrid has 2½ goals, with the over at +138 and the under at -138. Let’s reutilize the scores we mentioned before. If Atletico Madrid wins 3-1, the team total will be over 2½ goals; if the game ends 2-0, the team total will be under 2½ goals. Again, here, the game total doesn’t matter.

La Liga Betting Props

You didn’t think that was it, did you? I hope not because our La Liga betting plan includes more options. Thanks to the prop bets, you can spice things up, and here’s a sneak peek of what you can find.

Besides which team will win or how many goals will be scored in the game, you can bet on the correct score, halftime-fulltime result, margin of victory, both teams to score in the game, number of corners, anytime goalscorer, and more!

Let’s say Alexander Sorloth, one of Atletico Madrid’s top scorers, is +150 as anytime goalscorer in the La Liga odds, and you take a chance on him. It doesn’t matter if Atletico Madrid loses 6-1; if Sorloth scores that lone goal, you win the bet.

Here’s another example. Imagine you’re betting on El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid, and you bet on the total corners to be between 12-14. It doesn’t matter which team wins or which player scores; if the total corners finish between 12 and 14, you win the bet.

That’s the beauty of the prop bets: You don’t have to worry about which team wins. As long as the prop bet scenario happens, you cash in!

La Liga Betting Outrights

There’s more! That’s right. We love to give you as many options as possible. Here’s where the outright La Liga betting odds come into play because they allow you to bet before the season begins and as it progresses!

For example, you can bet on which team is winning the title. Regarding La Liga, you’ll always see Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid atop the La Liga odds board. Let’s say you take Real Madrid to win the title at -200 before the start of the season. You’ll have to wait until the end of the season to see if you win the bet, but as expected, that price will probably change. The good news is that it doesn’t matter. Your bet remains with the -200 price.

Some other options are for the team to finish in the top four, the team to finish in the relegation zone, or the player to finish as the league’s top scorer. Keep track of the La Liga news before placing any bets, as things can change weekly!

How Does La Liga Work

A Bit of History

Founded in 1929, La Liga is considered one of the best soccer tournaments in the world, constantly competing with the English Premier League for the top spot. Since its foundation, only nine teams have managed to win the title. Most recently, FC Barcelona won its 27th crown.

However, when it comes to titles, no other team has more than Real Madrid. Los Blancos has won La Liga 35 times. The two juggernauts are followed by Atletico Madrid since Los Colchoneros have finished atop the standings nine times.

Los Azulgranas and Los Blancos haven’t had too much trouble fulfilling their role as favorites in the Spain La Liga lines over the last 20 years. During that span, one of the two won the title in 17 seasons. From 2009 to 2018, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo made La Liga the most popular show on turf. Now, that responsibility falls on players like Vinicius Junior, Pedri, and Antoine Griezmann.

Messi and Ronaldo aren’t the only players considered among the best in history who graced La Liga at some point, the list also includes Alfredo Di Stefano, Diego Maradona, Emilio Butragueño, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazario, and Ronaldinho. That’s right, everyone wants to have something to do with La Liga.

Besides winning the La Liga title, all 20 teams also have the chance of winning the domestic cup, also known as the Copa del Rey. It’s a knockout tournament organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation that involves teams from all divisions. The winner qualifies for the UEL.

Title Contenders

As mentioned before, Barcelona and Real Madrid are always in control of the La Liga odds. Both usually invest a lot of money in the transfer market to stay on top, not only in La Liga, but in the UCL as well. Let’s not forget that no other team has won more UCL titles than Real Madrid with 14.

Nevertheless, when it comes to La Liga, Los Blancos haven’t been able to win back-to-back titles since the 2007-08 season. Since then, Los Azulgranas have won back-to-back titles three times. As mentioned before, Atletico Madrid comes in as the main threat to the two powerhouses.
