NBA Divisions Odds and lines

Overview

The NBA season makes for an exciting seven months, especially running alongside other sports leagues like the NHL and NFL. Whether you are betting on the games or just watching, there is great value to be found in the NBA. If you are betting, and looking to bet on NBA divisions, you’re in the right place. Right here at BetUS, you can bet on NBA Divisional futures, which will allow you to bet on a future outcome: the title winner of any of the six NBA divisions.

Betting on the NBA regular season provides countless opportunities (thousands), but if that is overwhelming to you, you can bet on this futures option that you can keep an eye on throughout the season and cheer on your chosen team.

The NBA consists of 30 teams, split into six divisions of five and each team plays 82 regular season games from October until April. That means there are over 2,400 NBA games in the regular season that you can bet on.

When you are betting on the NBA divisional odds, your job is to bet on which team will win their respective divisions. Once the NBA schedule is released, you’re given the opportunity to determine which teams have a strong schedule, who they will be playing, and determine how you think they will do for the duration of the season.

Betting on the NBA Divisional Champions

If you are going to bet on the NBA Division odds, you will want to place wagers on the top team in each division – or at least the team you believe will be the top team at the end of the season.
Atlantic Division Title

The Atlantic Division is one of the most closely matched divisions in the NBA. Teams are scattered around Eastern U.S., mainly in New York, Massachusetts and Philadelphia, and also features the sole Canadian team, with Toronto. The Boston Celtics have the record for most Atlantic Division titles, with 22. The past few years, the Brooklyn Nets have been favored to win the division, and the odds reflect that despite the Philadelphia 76ers being the reigning title holders.

Central Division Title

The Central Division hosts teams from the Northern central area of the United States, with teams from hubs such as Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, as well as Milwaukee and Indiana. The Milwaukee Bucks own this division, with 10 titles, along with being the reigning Central division title holders. They start out each season heavily favored.

Southeast Division Title

The Southeast Division hosts teams from Southeastern states such as Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and then randomly, Washington D.C. The Miami Heat tend to be favored to win this division, despite Atlanta winning in the previous season, but this division is the most likely to showcase an underdog as the Southeast Division title winner, as the odds can sway in any direction. The Miami Heat have the most Southeast Division titles.

Northwest Division Titles

The Northwest division tends to be another division with a very, very strong favorite, and in the 2021-22 season, we see that in the Utah Jazz who have the record for most titles with four. However, if you count the Seattle SuperSonics (now the Oklahoma City Thunder)’s combined record, you would have five titles. The Northwest division was only introduced in 2005, so it is new in terms of NBA divisions. In terms of the 2021-22 season, we don’t even recommend touching this division unless you believe a team other than the Jazz can pull off a miracle.

Pacific Division Titles

The Pacific division holds teams on the West coast of the United States, with four of the five teams being located in California. The fifth is located in Arizona. This is one of the most fun divisions in terms of teams and players, with plenty of big names like Steph Curry or Lebron James aiming to win that Divisional title. The Los Angeles Lakers have won the most Pacific Division titles with 24 (a fitting tribute for Kobe). Usually we can see some closer and more valuable odds in this division, and it’s definitely a fun one to bet on.

Southwest Division Titles

The Southwest division houses all of the Southern teams, from Texas to Tennessee, Louisiana, as well as one more California team. This is another division we like to keep an eye on the odds for, as it features some big competitors, and the odds usually remain fairly competitive and close. The San Antonio Spurs have the most Southwest Division titles with nine. Most recently, the Houston Rockets have had a huge fall from grace, going from winning three consecutive Southwest Division titles to being listed as giant underdogs this season at +50000. The Dallas Mavericks won their second divisional title in 2020-21 and are favored to repeat again.

HOW TO BET ON NBA DIVISIONS

Betting on NBA divisional odds gives you an exciting opportunity to make six separate futures wagers, predicting the winner of each division. This is the third tier of futures wagers, the second being the NHL Conference odds and the top tier being the NBA Finals Championship.

Betting on NBA Divisional odds can be easier to predict than the other futures options, as the divisions are small, much like the NFL, and you have a 1 in 5 chance of being correct.
