Fnatic achieves perfect VCT regular season after beating NAVI

Yesterday, the 2 best EMEA squads Fnatic and NAVI, finally went head to head looking for the top seed in their VCT regional league. Fnatic, the current defending LOCK//IN champions, stepped into the server as the only undefeated team in the world, and they managed to seal the deal after a 2-0 victory over their opponents. NAVI was in the hunt to beat Fnatic after they eliminated them from the pre-season tournament, howe
ver sadly it was not their time yet.

After this series, Fnatic has officially achieved a perfect 9-0 regular VCT season, while NAVI finished their campaign in second place with a 7-2 record. Ultimately Fnatic will enjoy 1st seed while NAVI as the 2nd seed might have to battle Team Liquid in the playoffs, a tough challenge to say the least.

The series started in Lotus, surprisingly, both squads flexed their agent picks with a total of 9 different agents chosen for this game.

The first couple of rounds showed viewers how close this series could turn out to be. With both Fnatic and NAVI tying the first half of Lotus 6-6. Nevertheless, Fnatic’s famous “duelist diff” finally showed up, after Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev with his staple Raze grabbed the most kills at 21, while his NAVI rival, Mehmet “cNed” İpek piloting Jett, ended the first match with just 6 kills. Ultimately Lotus ended with a 13-9 scoreline.

For map 2 we enter Split, with Fnatic taking an early round lead and NAVI not able to punch through their defenses. NAVI’s Kyrylo “ANGE1” Karasjov brought back an old gem in the form of Yoru, however Fnatic studied their opponents well and were more than prepared for it. Throughout the first half of map 2, Fnatic’s Emir “Alfajer” Beder piloting Cypher, was safeguarding both sides with traps and cameras ultimately calling all bluffs from ANGE1’s Yoru in a matter of seconds.

Fnatic finished the first half 8-4, while NAVI needed to find ways to adapt their initial strategy to look for a potential comeback in the second half. The Orange and Black squad took the second half pistol round and immediately pushed their round lead to 6, and at that point it was an extremely tough gap to close for NAVI. The final scoreline was 13-8, with Fnatic grabbing yet another 2-0 victory over NAVI in 2023.

Both Fnatic and NAVI are waiting to see who their regional playoff opponents will be, with even a possible chance they will face each other once more down the line. Fans are excited for the future of both sides, with VCT EMEA quickly becoming the best VALORANT region around the competitive scene.
