Patriots vs Cowboys NFL expert picks: Will New England Give Dallas Run for Its Money?

It would be so easy to bash the Dallas Cowboys after losing last week to the Arizona Cardinals. So, so easy. You know what, let’s give it a shot just for giggles.

What the hell Dallas? How can you lose against the Cardinals? I’m a bit over 200 pounds, haven’t played football since high school and I would have still probably beaten this Arizona team. I don’t know who is to blame here. Is it Dallas’ offense that is not as good as people think, or is it Mike McCarthy showing that he really can’t coach this team into contention.

Whatever it may be, the Cowboys don’t look anywhere close to where they should be and could be in for a shock Sunday if improvements aren’t made.

Now, in Week 4, as Dallas gets set to play host to the always uncomfortable New England Patriots, what are some of our NFL betting lines predictions for this game?

Let’s get to it.

Watch Out Cowboys, Zeke Is Coming Home!

If anybody knows a good song about coming back to a place where you were booted from, please cue the music. Zeke Elliott, one of Dallas’ most explosive running backs from the past years, will be making his return to AT&T Stadium, this time though, rocking a Patriots uniform.

After seeing his time at Dallas brought to an end, it seems as if Elliott has started to find his talents once again playing for Bill Belichick’s team. In last week’s win over the New York Jets, Zeke rushed for 80 yards in 16 carries, giving the Patriots enough room to punish NY’s elite defense and open up gaps to score.

Against his former team, Belichick and OC Bill O’Brien will be looking for Elliott to pound the ball once again and do exactly the same against another elite defense, Dallas’.

From the looks of it, this game feels like it will be won by whichever offense commits the least amount of mistakes and turnovers. Take that into consideration when coming up with your list of NFL picks this week.

While New England could focus on exploiting a short and mid-range passing game since Dallas’ star CB Trevon Diggs is out for the season, Mac Jones and the Pats’ receivers don’t have enough firepower to give Dallas a real scare. So concentrating on a strong run game will be essential.

For Dallas, the mission is simple. Dak Prescott will need to play better, which will lead to his offense playing better, all while Micah Parsons and the rest of his defense holds the fort down.

Take New England ATS and play it safe

Enough with bashing Dallas for losing against the Cardinals, let’s get real for a second. In that loss, Dallas’ offense still had 400 yards. If it hadn’t been for the 13 penalties that cost them over 100 yards, I could have easily seen the Cowboys taking that game.

Against New England, which as I previously mentioned will surely be running the ball the vast majority of the day, it will be up to Parsons and the rest of Dallas’ top-notch defense to make sure the Patriots don’t get close to the red zone.

The hit Dallas will take without Diggs in the secondary will be rough, but it won’t be game-changing. At least not in this game against a Patriots passing offense that’s mediocre at best.

While the Cowboys will be looking to rebound offensively from their performance last weekend, New England’s defense should keep this game close. Dallas has the better offense to win the game, that’s a given. But not by much. So when looking for a safe NFL pick against the spread, take the Pats at +6½.

NFL Pick: Patriots +6½ (-110)

Belichick’s Genius Defensive Mind Key To Bet the Under

If there is one thing Belichick knows how to do when facing high-octane offenses is breaking them down until stress and mistakes start to take over the game. NE’s coach has a perfect understanding of how to read opposing offenses, finding the right times to slow the pace of the game down and protect the football.

In this game New England’s defense could end up being the main reason as to why this result will stay under the expected number of points. Add to that Dallas’ elite defense stuffing up the run and pressuring Jones all day and what do you get? Yes, a low scoring affair ahead of us.

With both teams having had the total of two of their three games this season stay under, online betting fans should expect the same and ride with this free NFL pick on Sunday.

NFL Pick: Under 431⁄2(-110)
