The race for the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship is officially ON!
Forget speculation, BetUS lists live futures odds for every team right now.
The Trio of Undefeated Teams
Heading into the final couple of weeks of the college football regular season, there are three undefeated teams. Ohio State, Indiana, and Texas A&M remain unblemished. When it comes to college football odds today, the Buckeyes are +180 to win it all. The Hoosiers sit at +500, and Texas A&M is at +750.
After that, college football championship odds at BetUS have four teams bunched in the next grouping. Alabama is +1400, Georgia is +1000, Notre Dame is +1000, and Texas Tech is +1400. When considering wagers, remember that Notre Dame is an independent and will not factor into any conference championship game. Should the Irish win out, they would have finished on a 10-game roll after losing their first two contests.
The 12-team playoff setup makes it highly likely Alabama and Georgia will get invites and factor into College Football Playoff odds despite possibly not winning the Southeastern Conference Championship game. The SEC is mighty. In the CFP rankings released on Tuesday, there were five SEC teams in the top 12.
When dealing with college football betting odds on who will win the championship or even get a bid for the top 12, there is a key factor at the bottom that has to be addressed. Utah currently sits at 12. The Utes will be favored in college football betting lines against Kansas and Kansas State.
However, and this is huge when it comes to betting on a team to win it all, there is one bid to the top Group of Five conference school. That means Utah, or another school that winds up at 12 and didn’t win its conference championship game, would be on the outside looking in at the playoffs.
Key Regular Season Games Remaining
College football lines today have USC as an underdog at Oregon. For all intents and purposes, this is an elimination game when it comes to a CFP spot, particularly for the Trojans.
Other games that will weigh heavily on what teams get bids are:
- Georgia Tech at Georgia
- Ohio State at Michigan (for the Wolverines, who are a long shot at No. 18 now)
- Texas A&M at Texas
- Ole Miss vs. Florida and at Mississippi State
- Oregon at Washington
- BYU at Cincinnati
- Miami at Pitt
There will be attractive college football betting odds on each of these games and more at BetUS. The stakes get higher and the intrigue builds, which means there is more interest and wagering focused on college football betting lines.
The Heisman Picture
The Heisman Trophy odds are far clearer than any of the conferences. It is basically a two-player race between Big Ten quarterbacks on undefeated teams.
Listed as the favorite at -115 is Fernando Mendoza of Indiana. He has thrown for 2,641 yards and 30 touchdowns against five interceptions. Mendoza also has five rushing TDs.
The total of yardage gained on the ground is still affected by the archaic rule that charges quarterbacks for negative rushing yards when they are sacked.
The other unbeaten QB in Heisman odds is Julian Sayin of Ohio State. He has thrown for 2,675 yards with 25 touchdowns and four interceptions.
These schools seem to be on a collision course to meet in the Big Ten Championship Game if Ohio State can beat Michigan. Before that, the Buckeyes play Rutgers, and Indiana plays Purdue.
The third quarterback of an undefeated team in the Heisman race is Texas A&M’s Marcel Reed.
He led the incredible comeback last week against South Carolina and is currently +500 in Heisman Trophy odds. All three QBs will likely be at the awards ceremony in December in New York.
Everyone else is Heisman odds would be considered a long shot with Georgia QB Gunner Stockton checking in at +2500 and Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia listed at +2200.
Make sure to follow the odds daily at BetUS, as they can and will shift depending on the results of games and how players fare.
