College Football Playoff Odds

In the world of college football betting, predicting which twelve teams will make the playoffs is one of the most thrilling markets around. The “odds to make the College Football Playoff” betting market at BetUS Sportsbook lets you bet on which teams will or will NOT make the playoff. And with this season the playoff field is even larger! 12 teams will make the expanded CFP — five conference champs and seven at-large teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions are guaranteed the top four seeds with byes, and the remaining eight teams are seeded in order. Seeds 5-8 will host seeds 9-12 in first-round games on campus, with the winners heading to quarterfinals against the top four seeds at New Year’s Six bowl sites. From there, it’s a tournament. It’s no wonder this market is a favorite among bettors.

Understanding The Odds To Make The College Football Playoff

The odds of making the College Football Playoff reflect the likelihood of a team being among the top 12 contenders. They work similarly to moneyline odds in standard college football betting. For instance, if Ohio State has odds of -600 to reach the playoffs, a $600 bet would net you $100 in winnings. Or if Tennessee has +200 to reach the playoffs, a successful $100 bet would yield $200 in winnings. These odds aren’t set in stone; they fluctuate throughout the season based on team performance, injuries, and key victories or losses.

Factors Influencing Odds To Make The College Football Playoff

Several factors can sway the odds for a team to make the playoffs. These include overall team performance, the strength of their schedule, conference power, crucial wins or losses, player injuries, and even media hype. A team’s record and performance in high-stakes games, particularly as the season progresses, can significantly impact their playoff odds.
