Brazil NBB

Premier Men’s Basketball League with Intense Competition and Promotion System

Novo Basquete Brasil or NBB, is a Brazilian premier professional men’s basketball league and is the top-tier level of basketball in the country. The league is organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete, whose members also founded the league in 2008. There are 17 teams in the NBB professional basketball league.

  • Basquete Cearense
  • Bauru
  • Caxias Do Sul Basquetetriches
  • Cerrado Basquete
  • Corinthians
  • Flamengo
  • Franca
  • Minas
  • Mogi das Cruzes
  • Pato Basquete
  • Paulistano
  • Pinheiros/Sky
  • Rio Claro Basquete
  • Sao Paulo FC
  • Uniao Corinthians
  • Uniceub-BRB-Brasilia
  • Unifacisa Paraiba

The NBB competition is formatted into phases. The first phase showcases all teams, where they will play in a double round robin, playing one another as a home team, then as an away team. The top eight teams will then head to the playoff round, seeded in order from one to eight, in best of five series competitions. The four teams that move on will play in another best of five series, then the final two teams play in one championship game.

The league functions on a promotion and relegation system with the Liga Ouro de Basquete, which is the second tier of professional basketball in Brazil. The lowest ranked teams will move to the Liga Ouro de Basquete, and the top teams from that league will be promoted to the Brazil NBB.

Flamengo is the most successful Brazil NBB team, with seven championship titles in their eight championship performances.

How To Bet On Brazil NBB

If you plan to bet on the Brazil NBB, you will want to make sure you have all of the basketball betting information you need before placing any kind of wager. While you won’t find the magnitude of betting options like you would for NBA betting, you can still find a great selection of Brazil NBB odds and lines right here at BetUS Sportsbook.

Let’s look at the popular betting options you can find on the Brazil NBB

Moneyline bets allow you to bet on the winner of a game. These will be available for every game in the double round robin, the playoffs, semi finals and the championship. This means there are plenty of betting options available if you choose to bet on this option. All you have to do is select the correct winner for your wager to cash. The odds will reflect how likely that player is to win the bet.

Point spreads allow you to bet on a handicap on the favored team. The favored team will be shown with a negative number. This number is how many points that team must win for that wager to cash. The positive number next to the underdog team’s name shows you how many points that team is able to lose by for your bet to cash. If the underdog team wins the game outright, you would also win that bet.

The totals are frequently called over/under wagers, which essentially are exactly as they sound. Our oddsmakers will set a line based on how many points are predicted to be scored by both teams collectively. You will need to bet on whether you believe the actual total number of points scored will be over or under the oddsmakers line. You will be betting on both teams’ scores added together, so it doesn’t matter who wins!

You may not see as many prop options as you would be used to if you usually bet on North American sports like the NBA or NCAAB betting, but there will be a few options aside from the usual moneylines, totals, and spreads. Props allow you to bet on unique circumstances or outcomes that have nothing to do with the final score of the game.

The most exciting and risky bet you will place all season long during the Brazil NBB is a futures wager. What is a futures wager, you ask? Well, it’s a wager you can place on which team will win the title, only you will place this wager months in advance – even during the regular season. You can pick any of the 16 teams in the league, and they all will have odds based on how likely they are to win the championship.

Betting on the Brazil NBB is a fun way to spice up your basketball betting strategies, head over to the sportsbook to see what odds are available now.
