Stanley Cup Odds and Betting Lines

Those who enjoy betting on the fastest game on ice know that BetUS is command central for updated puck and moneylines, as well as totals and player props. BetUS also offers a comprehensive futures menu that lists each team’s odds to win the Stanley Cup.

Now that the season is coming to an end, let’s review the top contenders and teams that took home the hardware over the last five seasons.

2025-2026 Stanley Cup Contenders

BetUS has been posting updated NHL Stanley Cup odds since before the season began, and now that the teams are playing for real, we are able to separate the contenders from the pretenders. But there is still plenty of season left, and the oddsmakers at BetUS continually update their Stanley Cup odds, which means it is never too late to get in on the action.

Whether it is a nightly slate of NHL odds or a place for customers to hone their NHL predictions, replete with insider tips, player breakdowns, and key matchup insights, BetUS has it covered.

One site is all any bettor needs for research, expert NHL picks, and ultimately a full NHL betting menu with odds on each team to take home the sport’s most coveted prize, the Stanley Cup.

Speaking of which, BetUS has the following teams as top contenders to win the Stanley Cup: Colorado Avalanche (+180), Carolina Hurricanes (+160), Vegas Golden Knights (+550), the Montreal Canadiens (+1000), and the Buffalo Sabres (+1100), leading the board.

But remember, those odds can change in the blink of an eye, so the advice the professional handicappers would give is that if you see a team at a price you like, don’t sweat it, just bet it! And because history tends to repeat itself, we thought it would be a fine time to review the last five Stanley Cup champions.

Could any of these teams claim the Cup this year?

Stanley Cup Previous Winners

2020-2021 Stanley Cup Winner – Tampa Bay Lightning

What a year to be a fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning. They were the defending champions, and the Bolts weren’t done with their reign on the throne as they defeated the Montreal Canadiens in five games. But this was also an abbreviated season, truncated by the COVID-19 pandemic that saw all the Canadian teams tucked into their own division due to travel restrictions.

Nevertheless, a Stanley Cup is a Stanley Cup, even if it was played in July, and this squad was led by captain Steve Stamkos with Brayden Point as the team’s leading goal scorer and backboned by the stellar goaltending of Andrei Vasilevskiy.

The NHL odds on the Lightning are currently +1200 to win this year’s Stanley Cup.

2021-2022 Stanley Cup Winner – Colorado Avalanche

Try as they might, the Lightning’s bid for a three-peat was thwarted by the supremely talented Colorado Avalanche. When the dust settled, the Avs wrested the Cup away from Tampa Bay in six hotly contested games.

The offense was led by Mikko Rantanen, who tallied 36 goals, and Nazem Kadri, who was credited with 59 assists, 33 goals for a team-leading 92 points. Darcy Kuemper was the man tending the twine that season for the Avalanche.

The odds to win Stanley Cup for the Avalanche are currently +600 to win this year.

2022-2023 Stanley Cup Winner – Vegas Golden Knights

It was sweet revenge for head coach Bruce Cassidy, who had been relieved of his duties with the Boston Bruins after a Game 7 playoff loss to the Carolina Hurricanes the year before. Eight days after his termination, Cassidy was welcomed aboard as the Golden Knights’ third coach in their brief franchise history.

The Knights’ rookie head coach would go on to guide his team to its first Stanley Cup, courtesy of a 4-1 series victory over the Panthers. That season, Jonathan Marchessault led the team in goals with 28, while Chandler Stephenson was the team’s playmaker with 49 assists. Jack Eichel led the team in points with 66 on the season.

The NHL odds on the Golden Knights are currently +900 to win this year’s Stanley Cup.

2023-2024 and 2024-2025 Stanley Cup Winner – Florida Panthers

2023-2024

This was the franchise’s 30th season in the NHL, and they commemorated it finely after losing in the Stanley Cup finals to the Golden Knights the year before. The Panthers won the Atlantic Division with 110 points and rolled to a seven-game Stanley Cup victory over the Western Conference powerhouse Edmonton Oilers that season.

Sam Reinhart sizzled that season with 57 lamplighters and also led the team in points with 94, while Matthew Tkachuk was the assist leader with 62 helpers on the year.

2024-2025

The Panthers had so much fun winning the Stanley Cup the previous year, they figured they would do it all over again. Although not as prolific as he was in the prior season, Sam Reinhart once again led the team in goals (39) and points (81), while Aleksander Barkov was the straw that stirred the drink with 51 assists.

In a repeat of the previous year’s finals, Florida would once again dispatch the high-flying Oilers in six games to become the Stanley Cup champions. The Panthers are seeking to become the first team to three-peat since the New York Islanders of the early 1980s.

The NHL odds on the Panthers are currently +900 to win this year’s Stanley Cup.
