Seattle Opens as Solid Favorite
Super Bowl LX is set, and Super Bowl odds have the Seattle Seahawks as 4.5-point favorites over the New England Patriots with the total set at 46.
The Seahawks earned their way to the Feb. 8 game at Levi’s Stadium with a thrilling win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Earlier Sunday, the Patriots dusted the Denver Broncos, 10-7, in a game that saw the second half played in a driving snowstorm.
Why Seattle Is a Strong Favorite
The Seahawks earned their way to favoritism in NFL odds with strong play in the regular season that garnered them the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
They won the NFC West, the best division in football, and rolled past division teams, the 49ers and Rams, to get to the championship game.
This is a balanced team on many fronts. The defense is fierce.
Good luck to any team that tries to run on it. The secondary was shaky against the Rams, but don’t be too harsh on it because Los Angeles has one of the best passing games in the NFL.
When making a Super Bowl bet, focus on the strength of Seattle on offense, which is all of it. New England made Denver look meek, but the Broncos had a backup quarterback playing in awful weather.
The Seahawks have a great running game with Kenneth Walker III, and Sam Darnold can take his pick of elite receivers.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is borderline unrecoverable. Against the Rams, he had 10 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown.
Add in Rashid Shaheed and the great veteran Cooper Kupp, and one can see why Darnold is thriving after signing as a free agent in the offseason.
Michael Dickson is one of the best punters in the game, and Jason Myers is usually money when trying field goals.
Coach Mike Macdonald has done a great job in putting this team together.
Patriots Product of Incredible Turnaround
Mike Vrabel was hired to be the Patriots’ coach this year, and not many people gave New England a chance when it came to Super Bowl odds.
There was a good reason, as the Patriots had gone 4-13 in each of the last two seasons.
They found their way to the big game this year as the second seed in the AFC. New England went 14-3 in the regular season and won home games against the Chargers and Texans in the postseason at home before beating the Broncos.
New England has allowed 26 points in the three postseason wins.
If one wants to make a Super Bowl bet on the Pats, they will be banking on the defense to come up big again.
Drake Maye could be the NFL MVP off his regular-season performance, but he has been shaky in the playoffs.
Not bad but not great, either. He doesn’t have the talent around him that Darnold does. However, wide receivers Mack Hollins and Stefon Diggs are dependable targets.
On defense, the Pats spent money to bring in free agents like Milton Williams, who won a Super Bowl last year as an Eagle.
Vrabel was a linebacker during the Pats’ dynasty teams, and he has created a unit with the same attitude he had: play tough and stuff foes.
The kicking game would tend to favor the Seahawks. Bryce Baringer is not as good a kicker as Dickson, and Andy Borregales is a rookie.
He was 1-for-3 in the unfavorable weather conditions in the AFC Championship Game, granted one was a 63-yard attempt heading into the half.
While the early lean on Super Bowl odds could be toward New England, one should remember that years ago, a discounted Patriots team faced a powerhouse St. Louis Rams team, and a young QB named Tom Brady led that NE squad to an upset.
Last 5 Winners
2020 Season Super Bowl Winner – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The same city that traded Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees also allowed the greatest quarterback ever to grace the gridiron to walk to the Bucs in free agency. That legendary passer is, of course, Tom Brady, who decided six Super Bowls in New England were fine, but a seventh one down in the tropical climes of Tampa Bay would be even better.
And so, TB12 took his talents to the Bay, and the Bucs trounced the Chiefs, 31-9. But a changing of the guard was set in motion as Tom Brady, in the twilight of his storied career, stared across the field at a young gunslinging legend, Patrick Mahomes, who himself claimed his first Super Bowl the previous year and would be putting more Lombardi Trophies on his mantle in the near future.
2021 Season Super Bowl Winner – Los Angeles Rams
The Rams secured their first NFC West title since 2018 and thrashed the Cardinals in the Wild Card round before knocking off the previous year’s Super Bowl winners, the Tampa Bay Bucs, in the Divisional round.
Sean McVay’s Rams, led by quarterback Matthew Stafford—whose outstanding performance was instrumental in their Super Bowl run and boosted their championship odds throughout the season—would then edge the 49ers to claim the NFC crown before knocking off the Bengals, 23-20, to win Super Bowl LVI.
The NFL odds on the Rams are currently +300 to win this year’s Super Bowl.
2022 and 2023 Season Super Bowl Winner – Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs capped the 2022 season with a 14–3 record and the league’s most productive offense, riding Patrick Mahomes’ second MVP campaign to another Lombardi Trophy.
Mahomes earned his second Super Bowl ring by leading Kansas City past the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals and ultimately the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. The Jaguars’ breakout run that year, including a playoff win and a competitive showing against Kansas City, helped establish them as a rising AFC contender.
The Chiefs went on to repeat as champions in the 2023 season, giving Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce a third Super Bowl title and further solidifying Kansas City’s early‑decade dynasty.
However, the momentum stalled in 2025 when Mahomes tore the ACL and LCL in his left knee in a Week 15 loss to the Chargers, ending his season and snapping the Chiefs’ long playoff streak as they finished 6–11.
Mahomes underwent successful surgery on December 15 and is “doing great” in rehab. Still, his status for the start of the 2026 campaign remains uncertain, which has pushed Kansas City out of the top tier of current Super Bowl odds for the upcoming season.
2024 Season Super Bowl Winner — Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia and the City of Brotherly Love had been waiting two years for their revenge against the Chiefs, and the date had finally arrived. Unlike two seasons ago, when the Chiefs handed them a heartbreaking 38-35 Super Bowl loss, this time the venue had shifted from the desert of Glendale, Arizona, to the Big Easy in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Eagles had defeated the Packers and the Rams before steamrolling the Commanders in the NFC title tilt. The Green Bay Packers, despite a season marked by ups and downs and recent losses to the Eagles and Panthers, remained a significant obstacle in the NFC, influencing both the Eagles’ playoff path and the overall Super Bowl odds.
And then came the time for Philadelphia’s revenge, and they did not miss with a 40-22 shellacking of the Chiefs. It was a group effort led by six All-Pros, including Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown.
The NFL odds on the Eagles are currently +900 to win this year’s Super Bowl.
