NHL Props Betting Lines and Odds

Overview

NHL prop betting is the most popular offer and is now available throughout the season, and you don’t have to wait for the Stanley Cup odds to make this type of wager.

There are some great betting options when it comes to the NHL, but prop betting is right at the top of the list.

A prop bet is a unique type of wager that doesn’t require you to bet on which team will win or lose the game. Prop betting can be found for individual players, or you can also bet on team props.

The biggest reason that this type of bet has become so popular is that you will find some interesting and unique NHL prop betting options.

Most of the NHL’s odds for props that you see won’t have anything to do with the outcome of the game.

If you are going to bet on NHL props then you need to do this at BetUS Sportsbook. You will receive a 100% first deposit bonus when signing up, and you can then use those bonus funds to find the best NHL lines for player or team prop betting.

How Do NHL Props Work?

Prop betting when it comes to the NHL is a little bit different than some of the other sports. This isn’t a league that usually sees a ton of scoring, and the NHL lines that you find are going to reflect that.

There are three major types of player prop bets that you will find, and they include:

  • Player Shots
  • Player Points
  • Saves

There are many different subcategories under each of these, but that is really what you will be looking at. BetUS is going to have prop betting options for nearly every player on either team, at least in one of the categories.

NHL props focus on the game inside of the game most of the time, and you can also find unique options for each team.

Picking the total number of shots for a team, or which team will score first is an example of a team prop bet.

HOW TO BET ON NHL Props

Now that you have a better idea of what NHL prop bets are, it’s time to start to develop a betting strategy that can be used.

There are a number of different ways you can go when looking to bet on NHL props, but it’s important to have a strategy.

One of the most important things to remember when betting on NHL props is that you have to be willing to do some research.

There is going to be a long list of prop bets available to you, and you have to put in the time to research and find the best ones.

Along with doing some research, you should also be looking for value when you are making these NHL prop bets. Not all of the bets are going to be equal, and there are some options that you will simply want to stay away from.

Star players will usually have more prop betting options available, but it’s also wise to look at some of the role players in the odds also.

That might be where you are able to get the most value depending on what the NHL odds look like.

Staying away from your favorite team or players is another good thing to do, because that could cloud your ability to make good betting decisions.

It’s okay to make a prop bet on your favorite team if you find valuable odds, but you still need to put in the time and do some research.

Here is an example of what a popular NHL player prop bet might look like:

Connor McDavid Over/Under 4.5 shots on goal:
Over -135, Under +155

The NHL lines for this automatically tell you that there is a greater chance that McDavid will register at least five shots as opposed to four or less. You will also receive a smaller payout if you take that bet, but it’s better than losing.

Sportsbooks such as BetUS are going to try and entice you to get in on the action when it comes to prop bets, and they will set some very valuable and intriguing betting lines.
