Brooklyn Nets at Cleveland Cavaliers Odds and Lines

NBA odds should have Cleveland as a huge home favorite on Saturday … and with good reason. The Nets have a long way to go to be competitive, already losing their opener. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers roared to a 24-point lead over the 76ers at the half on Thursday. That would be the same 76ers team that beat the Knicks at MSG on opening night.

The Cavs seemed to forget the NBA is a 48-minute game as they let the 76ers back in during the third quarter and eventually lost, being outscored 69-37 in the second half. Cleveland swept all three games from the Nets last season. Good luck to Brooklyn trying to corral Donovan Mitchell & Co. after that embarrassing last 24 minutes.

Spread Analysis

The spread is a big number on NBA lines, which shows the difference in talent on these rosters. Don’t be fooled into thinking the Nets will hassle Cleveland. The Nets are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers flirt with being elite.

Total Betting Trends

NBA betting odds will be tricky when it comes to the total. Cleveland averaged better than 119 points last season; Brooklyn was at a tick under 106. The Cavs will do their part to get the game over. There are issues whether the Nets have the firepower to do theirs. After scoring 124 points in their first meeting last season, Brooklyn went for 84 and 102 in the other two games.
