Vatican Odds and Betting Lines

Following the passing of Pope Francis last Monday, speculation concerning his successor has intensified.

BetUS has a vast betting menu on the topic, and Next Pope Odds are high on the list.

The Vatican said that Roman Catholic cardinals will begin their secret conclave on May 7th to elect the new leader of the global Church.

The date was decided during a closed-door meeting of cardinals at the Vatican, the first since the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday.

Some 135 cardinals, all under the age of 80 and from all corners of the world, are eligible to take part in the vote for the next head of the 1.4-billion-member Church, which is beset by concerns over its finances and divisions over doctrine.

As the conclave approaches, Vatican observers and betting markets have begun speculating on the next pope odds, with several prominent cardinals emerging as potential frontrunners for the papacy.

Who are the Favorites for the Next Pope?

Who is the Pope now in 2025? That would be Pope Francis, whose papacy began on March 13, 2013, after his predecessor, Pope Benedict, became the first pontiff in over 600 years to resign.

But recent word of Pope Francis’ hospitalization with pneumonia has many people wondering, who will be the next pope?

It’s a delicate question, but one that must be asked, and BetUS has an entire novelty prop betting menu devoted to that very question.

There are over 50 names on the list to choose from, each with corresponding papal name odds.

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Philippines is the odds-on favorite at +300, but he has company with Pietro Parolin of Italy (+350) and Marc Ouellet of Canada (+350).

On the other end of the spectrum are long shots like Canadian Cardinal Thomas Collins, German Cardinal Reinhard Marx, and Singaporean Cardinal William Goh, all being offered at +5000.

The entire list of next pope betting lines can be found only at BetUS, where our novelty props betting menu is more extensive and current than any in the industry.

BetUS prides itself on its burgeoning reputation as the nexus between gaming and current events. If a topic is trending, there is an excellent chance BetUS will be offering it as a wagering prop on our novelty betting menu.

From Which Continent Will the Next Pope Come & Papal Name

In addition to the name of the pope, the next pope odds are also available on the continent of the next pope, with Africa at -200 leading the way, followed by Europe at +100. Central or South America is the long shot at +800.

When a new pope is elected by the College of Cardinals, he must choose a name. Jorge Mario Bergoglio is the birth name of Pope Francis, and BetUS has a list of over 30 possible “pope names” with corresponding odds.

It’s all right here at BetUS. Visitors can bet on novelty lines of the cardinal who will succeed Pope Francis, the continent from which he hails, and even the name he will choose when he ascends to the papacy.

Speculation is running rampant as to who will be the man chosen to lead the world’s 1.37 billion Roman Catholics.

We don’t know when the next chapter of the papacy will be written, but anyone who has an opinion or is even remotely curious is welcome to peruse our Vatican odds betting menu because at BetUS, we have it all.
