NCAAF Early Lines Odds and Lines

The NCAA football early lines are betting lines for the opening weekend of the college football season.

They are the main way for bettors to bet early on college football games and offer all the different games on the college football lineup.

How Do NCAAF Early Lines Work?

The sportsbook offers opening odds for each college football matchup, with bettors having the option to wager on the moneyline, spread and over/under.

The moneyline is the same as in any other sport, with fans having to bet on who they believe will win the game.

The spread involves bettors deciding how much a team will win or lose by, while the over/under is a prediction of the combined total number of points scored in the game.

Betting Strategy

When betting on NCAAF early lines, there are a few different strategies to use to make the most out of your wager.

Doing research on what teams are returning the most players is helpful, as teams with many upperclassmen and returning players are usually more likely to have success from one year to the next.

Knowing how a team did the year prior and the incoming players can also be helpful for placing early line bets. If a team didn’t do as well the year prior but has a strong incoming class, they may have a chance at improvement this year.

Finally, keeping track of how teams do week to week is key, as teams can rely on momentum and winning streaks to help push them through the season.

Prop Bets

Though the moneyline, spread, and total are the three main bets for NCAAF early lines, bettors can also place wagers on prop bets that add to the entertainment value of the game.

Prop bets are wagers on what kind of events will happen in a game or how a player will perform, such as what the first score of the game will be or how many yards a player will have in a game, and are another fun way to get involved in the game.

How to Bet on NCAAF Early Lines

The three most common ways to bet on the NCAAF early lines are the moneyline, spread, and over/under.

Moneyline Betting

The moneyline involves the bettor placing a wager on who they believe will win the game and typically involves a positive and negative number. The team that is favored is represented by the negative number with the positive number representing the underdog. The greater the number, the bigger the favorite or underdog.

Spread Betting

A spread bet has a bettor predict how much a team will win or lose by. In the case of the Minnesota-Nebraska matchup, the sportsbook put the spread at 7.5 points. That means that Minnesota must win by eight or more points to cover while Nebraska must either win or lose by seven points or less to cover.

Over/Under Betting

Finally, the over/under includes a prediction of how many total points the teams will combine to score. If the sportsbook places the total at 47, bettors must decide if they believe teams will combine to score over 47 points, betting the over, or less than that, taking the under.

There is also the opportunity to bet on prop bets in NCAAF early lines, which involve betting on certain outcomes or player performances in a game.

Bettors can place wagers on how many touchdowns they think a player may score, which team will score first, and many more things to increase the entertainment value of a game.
