MLB Total Runs, Hits, and Errors Odds and Betting Lines

Baseball season is here, and it will create betting options that differ from the other major professional sports!

While betting on the run line, moneyline, and total are staples of Major League Baseball betting, there are other ways to look at MLB odds.

One under-the-radar option is the R+H+E (RHE).

But what does RHE mean? These are bets that project the number of combined runs, hits, and errors by a team in a game. We’re going to take a look at that bet and the MLB props for RHE bets.

Make sure to check out our MLB hub for top baseball betting coverage during the 2025 season.

Tools Needed to Make R+H+E Bets

Take a Look at the Numbers

This is one bet where research is of paramount importance. Pitching matchups could be crucial in hitting or missing RHE bets. A starting pitcher allowing plenty of hits and runs could attract plenty of action when he takes the mound.

While walks don’t count in RHE bets, the more runners who get on base, the more opportunities exist for runs to be scored and more at-bats for batters to add to the hit total of their team. That can factor into the MLB odds.

A good stat to use is the WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched). Among the qualified pitchers from the 2024 season, Seattle’s Logan Gilbert, Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers, Zack Wheeler of the Philadelphia Phillies and Bryce Miller of the Seattle Mariners were the only pitchers with WHIP totals under 1.00. If they put up similar numbers in 2025, avoid them when making RHE bets.

On the other end of the spectrum were Washington’s MacKenzie Gore (1.42 WHIP), Toronto’s Chris Bassitt (1.46 WHIP) and Patrick Corbin (1.50 WHIP).
Keeping tabs on the MLB injury report can be crucial to making solid RHE bets.

Which Teams Had the Most Runs and Hits in 2024?

It might be a surprise to some that the Arizona Diamondbacks, who finished third in the National League West Division during the 2024 season, led all MLB teams with 886 runs scored during the last campaign. Keep that in mind for MLB props for RHE in 2025.

The next two teams on that list happen to be the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees, the two teams that played in the 2024 World Series.

The Yankees led the majors with 237 home runs and homers can certainly be beneficial in RHE bets. Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees is priced at +350 to lead in home runs in 2025. He will continue to be a favorite MLB props pick.

The San Diego Padres edged out the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Houston Astros for the most hits.

The Chicago White Sox were last among the 30 MLB teams with 507 runs and 1187 hits during the 2024 season, so taking the White Sox to land under the RHE total was a smart choice.

Errors Can Pile Up

It can be a little easier to project hits and runs based on batter vs pitcher matchups. Teams that play in hitter or batter-friendly parks can also impact the odds and the success rate of RHE bets.

The error total can be a little harder to pinpoint when making MLB bets.

The Miami Marlins led all MLB teams with 117 errors in 2024, followed by the Boston Red Sox at 115 and the Washington Nationals at 105.

The Yankees were the 2024 playoff team that had the most errors. The combination of a team committing plenty of errors and leading the league in home runs is sure to make a great RHE bet.

Which MLB Players Had the Most Hits and Runs in 2024?

It is interesting that the 10 players with the most hits during the 2024 season played for 10 different teams.

Bobby Witt of the Kansas City Royals led the way with 211 hits, including 98 extra-base hits. His 125 runs and 109 RBIs certainly helped the Royals when it came to RHE bets. MLB lines can be impacted when Witt is on one of his hot streaks.

Luis Arraez of the San Diego Padres had 200 hits, the most in the National League. His extra-base hits, runs, and RBIs are well back of what Witt had.

Veteran slugger Vladimir Guerrero of the Toronto Blue Jays is another player to keep an eye on as he had 199 hits, 98 runs, 103 RBIs and 75 extra-base hits.

Shohei Ohtani of the World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers led the majors with 134 runs, while only Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees had more RBIs than Ohtani.

No. 2 on the list of runs scored was Juan Soto of the New York Yankees. However, Soto signed a huge deal with the New York Mets, so it is worth watching to see how the RHE numbers of the Yankees and the Mets are impacted.

When Does the 2025 MLB Season Begin?

The first spring training game was on Feb. 20 when the Chicago Cubs met up with the Los Angeles Dodgers in Phoenix.

The same two teams will get the regular season going in the Tokyo Series on March 18 and 19.

When looking at the MLB futures, BetUS Sportsbook has the Dodgers favored at +275 in the odds of winning the World Series followed by the New York Yankees (+850) and the Atlanta Braves (+900).
