Team Future Bets
Placing a team’s future bet can lean heavily on betting on who will make it out of the tier A group stages and who will go on to win the whole tournament. Odds will likely favor the usual top four teams, the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Costa Rica, as well as Honduras, who placed third in the first tournament. With four groups, that does mean that one of these five teams will not make it out of the first round, which can ruin a bet early.
Placing a bet on a team to be relegated or promoted is always an option that can have a solid payout. Betting on teams from tier B and C to be promoted, as well as who in tier A and B could be relegated. Tier A relegation might have bad odds, as teams that get stuck with two of the better teams in their group are more than likely to be relegated. The other two tiers offer more favorable odds, where more extreme possibilities are possible, in both the promotion and relegations.
Individual Future Bets
Individual future bets offer many options for specific players to succeed throughout the tournament. Betting on a player to lead the tournament in goals, best player, or best goalkeeper are all available. Bets can also be placed on a per tier basis, or try to bet on who may lead all players in the tournament. Players in tier B have an advantage, as each group holds four teams, compared to the groups in tiers A and C, which only hold three, therefore playing more games.
Betting on stars like Christian Pulisic from the United States or Raul Jimenez from Mexico, who both play in the top leagues in Europe, can be easy bets for top scorers but will have less favorable odds.
However, possible injuries while playing for club teams during the tournament is on pause could make it difficult for players to contribute constantly. Coaches from the top teams also use younger players, allowing them to succeed as they get ready for bigger national team tournaments.
Weston McKennie was tied with four goals for the most in their A and won the tournament’s best player. He had recently moved to European giants Juventus, which could have been a sign of his success, as one of the biggest teams in the world wanted to acquire his talents.
Over Unders Bets
Betting on the over-under for the CONCACAF Nations League can be difficult. Teams will play from four to six games, not counting playoffs, now allowing for few future over-under point totals per team. It is still possible, but it can be challenging, with little room for error.
Betting over under on goals scored per player also runs into a similar issue. With few games played, the spreads will be hard to hit.
On the other hand, the lack of games can lead to lower spreads for teams and players, meaning a few well-placed bets can win big. You can easily catch lightning in a bottle by betting on a very low spread that can hit.
Moneyline/Full-Time Result Bet
Betting on the CONCACAF Nations League Moneyline and other full-time bets can be much easier than others. More often than not, the top teams win. The question will be by how much. For example, the United States beat Cuba in the 2019 group stages 7-0. In some games, betting on the better team to go over the point spread and the win total can payf.
You can also bet on individual players to score, as when the best players on the best teams play, they are likely to stand out against the competition. Betting on lines that seem to close in some games might be one of the better options to bet on the CONCACAF Nations League.
