The Yankees look to build on their lead in the AL East on Monday when they throw Max Fried against Jack Leiter of the Texas Rangers. Leiter’s dad, Al, actually started and finished his long MLB career in Pinstripes. The Yankees are holding their breath that Giancarlo Stanton’s calf tightness won’t cost him a lot of time.
Fried has been brilliant, building a 3-1 record with a 2.40 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 41.1 innings. Leiter is 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA. This one leans to the road team when it comes to bet on the MLB in a big way for the Yankees at -172.
