Something Special Brewing in Milwaukee
Brewers Second Choice in Futures Universe
The Dodgers remain the favorites in World Series baseball betting odds. They are +180, although there has to be concern in the wagering universe after they were swept by the Atlanta Braves last week.
The New York Yankees are no longer the second overall pick in baseball World Series odds. That honor – for now – goes to the Milwaukee Brewers, who are +700 to New York’s +850. If you are looking for a team with an interesting number, it has to be the Atlanta Braves, who are +1200. The way baseball is going in 2026, it feels like a National League team will be a heavy favorite in the World Series. If you think the Dodgers can be had, there are tempting plays with the Braves and Brewers. There is money to be made.
AL East Teams Riding Top of Junior Circuit
The American League is basically about the AL East with the Rays, Yankees and Red Sox leading the way in that circuit when it comes to MLB odds to win World Series. The Yankees continue to be the top pick in the American League. That begins to feel like it is because they have such a following and so much was expected.
The Rays continue to roll in the East. They are +1000 in MLB futures. The Rays continue to play strong baseball, under the radar, because everyone is so fixated on the Yankees and Red Sox, who are +1400. The Yankees and Red Sox played in the Bronx over the weekend. Boston has been the hot team since July and it will be interesting to watch their odds as the regular season heads to the finish.
Other Teams Are Long, Longshots
Future odds MLB for the rest of the picture would be like taking a stab. The Chicago Cubs play inconsistently and would seem to be the best of the rest. They are +1300. The team is unpredictable at best.
The AL Central and West teams would be stunners if they won it all. MLB future bets indicate that the White Sox are +2000 and Cleveland is +4000. In the AL West, the Rangers and Astros try to play better than .500 ball, not exactly an endorsement to win the World Series. Houston is +2500 and Texas is +5000.
The Phillies are a team that came from nowhere to have a strong presence in the NL playoff picture. They are +1300 but would probably have to win as a wild-card team because it is unlikely they will catch Atlanta. In the NL West, the San Diego Padres (+4000) and Arizona Diamondbacks (+6500) are vying to be in the wild-card picture. Truth is, the top four teams in line to win the World Series by their play are the three division leaders in the NL and the Phillies. Everyone else is, well, everyone else.
