NCAAF Second Half Lines

NCAA football has a long history with some great rivalries. Some of these rivalries have had great second-half comebacks. NCAA football has also had plenty of non-rivalry games with a massive comeback from behind wins in the second half. Some teams do better in the second half as opposed to other teams. Second-half rallies can make for an exciting finish to some NCAA football games.

Memorable NCAAF Second Half Comebacks

One of NCAA football’s most memorable second-half rallies was during the 2006 Michigan St vs. Northwestern game. Down by 35 points, Michigan St rallied from behind to win the game 41-38. Another game during 2006 that had a big comeback from behind was the Texas Tech vs. Minnesota matchup in the 2006 Insight Bowl. Texas Tech was down 38-7 early in the third quarter. As time expired, Texas Tech tied the game 38-38 to send the game into overtime, winning 44-41 in the extra frame to tie the record for the largest comeback in NCAA football history.

Not every second half is as exciting as those games were. Some teams that play better in the second half don’t have large deficits to make up. Others who play better in the second half still come up a little short. However the game ends, second-half play can usually be an exciting thing to watch.

How To Bet On College Football Second Half

People who are new to betting may wonder what the NCAAF second half is in the football betting world. For betting purposes, the NCAAF second half is the second half of play between two teams. You will be only betting on the outcome of the second half.

This is different from gambling on the game itself. The winner of the NCAAF second half of play doesn’t have to be the winner of the game. To win the wager, the team has to beat the other team in points scored for the second half.

There are some things to look at with teams that you may want to bet on in the second half of play. Here’s what to look for:

  • Does the team have a record of outscoring opponents in the second half
  • Does the team have a history of getting outscored in the second half
  • Did any critical players get injured and won’t be playing in the second half
  • Is the game a rivalry game
  • Was the team starting to make a push at the end of the first half
  • Is the team in the lead at the first half benching players because they have an insurmountable lead?

Some teams get such large leads in the first half that they bench players to protect them. Something like this may give an underdog team a chance in the second half to at least score more points than their opponent. When this happens, it could be a good betting opportunity.

What you see in the first half with a team might not be the same way they play in the second half. It’s always important to look at that from a betting perspective. If a team struggles in the second half of play regularly, they most likely wouldn’t be a good option to bet on. However, if a team typically dominates the second half of a game, they would be the better choice.

Researching all the possibilities before making your wager is the best course of action. Making an informed online betting is making a smart bet.
