The 76ers erased a 0-18 record when they were down 3-1 in the playoff series by stunning the Boston Celtics on Sunday. NBA odds are not impressed because they go to Madison Square Garden on Monday and have to play the New York Knicks, who finished the Atlanta Hawks in six games. The Knicks are seven-point favorites with the total set at 213.5.
The 76ers will be keeping a keen eye on Joel Embiid. The center was huge in Game 7 but dinged a knee a couple of times. He already missed games in the playoffs while completing recovery from having an appendix removed. The 76ers will need Embiid if they hope to keep pace with the Knicks, who play a swarming defense.
Tyrese Maxey can keep pace with Jalen Brunson as backcourt superstars. The Sixers will need plenty of support from players other than Embiid and Maxey if they hope to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
