Fresh from knocking off the Super Bowl champion Eagles on Sunday, the 49ers earned a visit to Seattle for the second time this season.
They opened the season with a 17-13 win at Seattle but lost 13-3 at Levi’s Stadium in Week 18. That game was for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
The loss dropped SF to the six seed. This one will be Saturday in the Great Northwest despite SF having played on Sunday. That means one less day of rest for the Niners
The Niners have been riddled with injuries all season and are 7-point underdogs here on NFL Divisional Round week odds.
That number probably jumped a tick or so when great tight end George Kittle tore his Achilles against the Eagles.
Coach Kyle Shanahan has managed to navigate losing all sorts of players on his roster to guide the team to Seattle, where the teams will vie for a spot in the NFC Championship Game.
San Francisco has the great Christian McCaffrey at running back. He can rush, catch passes, and is an all-around threat. Without Kittle, will the 49ers be able to spring McCaffrey?
Seattle has quarterback Sam Darnold at the controls. He loves to throw the ball to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who led the NFL in receiving yards. JSN has 15 passes for 208 yards in the two games against San Francisco.
This game will be a stiff test for San Francisco. The NFL betting will give a heavy lean into Seattle since Kittle is also out.
The NFL lines have the total set at 45½, which is significantly hire than either of the first two games.
- Pick: Seahawks -7 points, Under 45
