Factors to Consider for Making a Winning Bet on UFC Odds

Here is a list of some things that one should be looking out for to have a better chance of making a winning bet:

1. Fighting Styles of Each Opponent

Understanding the fighting styles of the fighters involved is crucial. Knowing their strengths and weaknesses can help you assess their potential advantages or vulnerabilities in the matchup.

2. Exploiting Weaknesses in Opponent’s Fighting Style

Analyzing whether a fighter can exploit a weakness in their opponent’s fighting style can be a key factor in predicting the outcome of the fight.

3. Opponent’s Weakness against Submissions

If a fighter is known for winning by submissions, it’s essential to assess whether their opponent has a weakness against that type of submission.

4. Past Fight Outcomes and Methods of Victory

Beyond the simple win/loss record, delving into how each fighter has won or lost their past fights can give valuable insights into their strengths and vulnerabilities.

5. Fight Finishing Ratios

Understanding whether the fighters tend to go the distance in their fights, or if they often win by TKO or submission, can influence your betting strategy.

6. Previous Encounters

Have the two fighters ever faced each other before? Past matchups can provide valuable information on how they might fare in the current bout.

7. Results of Previous Fights

If this is a rematch, studying the adjustments made by the fighters who lost in their previous encounter can help in predicting their chances of winning this time.

8. Overconfidence of the Favorite

Beware of cases where the favorite appears to be too overconfident, as this can open up opportunities for the underdog to capitalize on being underestimated.

These factors are critical in helping you identify potential underdogs with a better chance of winning than the UFC Vegas odds suggest. Studying the fighters, their training, and their mental attitudes can be the key to making informed bets and potentially earning significant payouts.

Keep in mind that the UFC is unique, with fighters training extensively to exploit their opponent’s weaknesses. The example of Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm serves as a reminder of how overconfidence can lead to unexpected outcomes in fights.

Additionally, observing pre-fight interviews and weigh-ins can provide valuable insights into the fighters’ mindsets and confidence levels, which can be advantageous when making your betting decisions.

Remember, BetUS offers a platform to bet on all UFC fights, along with promotions for new customers, including deposit bonuses. Whether you choose to use cash or cryptocurrencies, BetUS has you covered for your UFC betting needs.

HOW TO BET ON UFC ODDS

UFC betting odds are all moneyline odds. Each fight will have a favorite and an underdog, with the favorite having negative odds and the underdog having plus odds. Each fight will also have an over/under on the number of takedowns during the fight.

UFC odds are determined by oddsmakers based on the two fighters’ records and their average number of takedowns during a fight. While the oddsmakers look at those most common things before establishing UFC fight odds, there are some things that gamblers can look at before making their bets on UFC fights. Looking at some of the X-factors might help gamblers find something that oddsmakers might have missed, leading to a big payout for the bettor.

UFC History

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is one of the most well-known combat sports around the world. Since its founding in 1993 by Art Davie and Rorion Gracie, the UFC has become a multi-billion dollar powerhouse in the world of mixed martial arts. Rorion Gracie comes from a family that created their own form of jiu-jitsu, known as Gracie jiu-jitsu, to defeat all other martial artists, regardless of the training or size of the martial arts fighter.

The Gracie family members have participated in UFC matches, the most notable being Royce Gracie, the first-ever UFC champion. Royce entered the inaugural UFC championship tournament as the smallest competitor. However, thanks to the family’s Gracie jiu-jitsu form of martial arts, Royce was able to overpower his opponents in all three of his fights to win the tournament.

In that first tournament, there were no weight classes and minimal rules. However, the UFC has created more rigorous rules and weight classes for fighters since that time. Fighters also began adopting techniques from multiple disciplines, which indirectly helped create a different style of fighting known nowadays as mixed martial arts.

The UFC had its share of problems in the past, nearly folding several times during the early parts of the 2000s. The UFC also came under fire from politicians in the late 90s who saw it as nothing more than glorified “human cockfighting,” leading the UFC to adopt rules and regulations if they wanted to stay in business. Before turning things around, the UFC had difficulty between politicians and money issues for about ten years.

The Ultimate Fighter: The Reality Show That Saved the UFC

In January 2005, the UFC, in partnership with Spike TV, would air a reality show called The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) that showcased MMA fighters competing for a six-figure contract with the UFC. The show was first aired right after WWE Monday Night Raw and would be a massive success for the UFC. Dana White, the current president of the UFC, credits TUF with saving the UFC from the brink of folding.

UFC Titles

The UFC has eight different titles for their men’s division and four titles for their women’s division which are defended when a number one contender is determined. Below is the list of UFC titles by division:

  • Men’s Heavyweight Champion
  • Men’s Light Heavyweight Champion
  • Men’s Middleweight Champion
  • Men’s Welterweight Champion
  • Men’s Light Weight Champion
  • Men’s Featherweight Champion
  • Men’s Bantamweight Champion
  • Men’s Flyweight Champion
  • Women’s Featherweight Champion
  • Women’s Bantamweight Champion
  • Women’s Flyweight Champion
  • Women’s Strawweight Champion

The titles have defended an average of 1-3 times each year, depending on how many contenders the champion gets.
