NCAAW Awards Betting Odds and Lines

What are the NCAAW Awards About?

The NCAAW Awards are a futures bet on who will win the top NCAA Women’s basketball awards at the end of the regular season. They are a long-term bet and another way to get involved in women’s college basketball betting.

What are the different awards categories?

There are many different kinds of player awards given out at the end of the season. Some of the main ones are the Wooden Award for the top basketball player, Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year.

How do NCAAW Awards work?

NCAAW Awards are a futures bet, which is a long-term bet that is based upon the results of a season rather than a game.

Bettors can make a prediction for who will win each award ahead of or early on in the women’s college basketball season and wait to see if the award will cash out. The longer a bettor waits to place their bet, the shorter the odds and the smaller the payout.

Futures bets are mainly represented by positive odds, with the lower the positive number indicating the greater the favorite. Sometimes, if one person or outcome is much more favorable than the others, it will be represented by negative odds rather than positive.

Betting Strategy

When betting on NCAAW Awards, there are a few strategies one can employ to boost their chances of a payout.

Knowing which teams are favored to make a run is the most beneficial, as difference-making players on successful teams are more likely to make noise and win awards than those on struggling teams.

Doing research into how top players performed in the past and who their team is around them can also help. Having great chemistry with their team could help a player perform well while showing continued growth could indicate further improvement in the season as well.

Finally, bettors shouldn’t forget about players who are returning from injury. A player who was sidelined last year and is ready to return, such as UConn’s Paige Bueckers, shouldn’t be forgotten as they could take over and make some noise in the awards as well.

Prop Bets

Though there are some prop bets when it comes to women’s college basketball, since NCAAW Awards are a futures bet, it doesn’t have any prop bets.

How to Bet on NCAAW Betting Lines

There are three main ways to bet on women’s college basketball, that being the moneyline, point spread and total, but the only way to wager on the NCAAW Awards is through a futures bet.

A futures bet is a long-term bet wherein a bettor doesn’t see their wager pay out until the end of the season, rather than the end of the game. For the NCAAW Awards, bettors can make a prediction on who they believe will win the top NCAA Women’s College basketball awards.

Futures bets are typically represented by positive odds, with the lower the positive number indicating the greater the favorite.

For example, the sportsbook may have odds for both Cailtin Clark and Angel Reese to win the Wooden Award for the top basketball player in the country. Clark, at +100 odds, is favored to win, while Reese may have longer odds to win at +350 odds. A bettor would double their money if they placed a $100 bet on Clark winning while a $100 bet on Reese would earn a $350 profit should either win.
